Deborah said… - When I was a kid Randall Road was out in the middle of bufu nowhere! By the time I left it was solid commercial from Aurora to St. Charles and then not much till So. Elgin. Must be a sight for sore eyes!! We got sick of the miserable winters with not enough snow . . . so we went the other extreme . . . Central Texas. Now when it gets down to freezing occasionally we think we're in Antarctica. If there is any sort of frozen precip on the roads we stay home . . . Texans have No Idea how to drive on that stuff.

- I enjoy my career as a multimedia director for the Pepper Group in Palatine, IL. I produce videos, websites, and also do audio-visual stagings. I married my high school sweetheart and we have three great kids. I spend my free time bicycling; volunteering for Destination ImagiNation; cheering loudly for the University of Illinois (my alma mater), the Chicago Bears and the Cubs; writing a bicycling column for the Daily Herald newspaper in the Chicago suburbs; helping plan and riding in the National MS Society's annual 150-mile bike tour; and as webmaster for my Unitarian Universalist church and my daughter's high school's Fine Arts support organization.

Not invincible?
With a 10º temperature rise above my last bicycle ride on Friday, 36ºF and drizzling on Sunday seemed like pretty decent conditions. What harm could possibly come from a little bike ride? I found out four miles later when I went from the traditional upright position on my road bike to the less comfortable horizontal position within a split second. We Did It!
As an early donor to the Obama campaign, I was lucky enough to receive a Rally Invitation email and responded quickly enough to get a coveted pair of free tickets.
My daughter and I took the “L” downtown from Rosemont and had a once-in-a-lifetime experience!
