Burfday Shenanigans
So I had a very impromptu gathering at my lily pad on saturday as some friends of mine were upset that I wasn't going to be celebrating my birthday this year. So after having already made plans to make dinner for some friends of mine, I let everyone know that it was ok to stop by after for some drinks and a rockband session.
After spending 4 hours cleaning and then starting the cooking around 2pm, I had to run to my Mom's at 4pm to get my sister's hair and makeup ready for her winter ball. After doing that I went back to my house to finish cooking and to shower as the guests were arriving at 6:30, or at least they were supposed to. Now I know these bitches have been known to lag from time to time, but I figured I had made it quite clear that the evening was timed and that showing up on time was a necessity.
Anyhow, after cooking and cleaning and getting ready, I was ready to go by 6:30 with no one in sight! 6:45...7...7:15...so i text them and let them know my unhappiness w/them and told them that I was feeding their dinner to the first guests to show up.
So Estrella and Jen show up and to their suprise I offer them a semi warm meal which they gladly accept. As we're about to eat, who shows up? Why it was the guests of (dis)honor!
They found me steaming no doubt and as I'm about to lay into all of them they come in doe-eyed with big goofy smiles and PRESENTS! How could I stay mad at that haha.
After apologizing profusely, we sat down and enjoyed dinner with drinks to ensue.
Drinks came (vodka mixed shots, vodka redbull, tequila, homemade limoncello..who knows what else) gifts came (patron, giftcards, jewlery, drinking games, homemade personalized keepsake boxes, cakes!) and so did rockband...
Drinks come to me all night without me even realizing my cup was empty! Some of my favorite people came to dance and hang out so it made for a great night. We played a new game drinking game I got called "I never." That was funny and allowed us to all get to know eachother very well! Lots of birthday snuggles and hugs and grabs and kisses were had :) who could complain?
At one point of the night I thought I got locked outside and they wouldn't open the door for me, until I realized the big glow of light from the kitchen was not the lights on and was in fact just the light from all my candles glowing. So once they opened the door for me I got a great big birthday serenade.
After dancing and prancing and playing some drums, a b-day head massage on the couch was what did me in. I think that was about 4:30am and I was down for the count. I awoke sunday morning to a nice headache and to find i was already in my bed with my kitties and pj's.
what a night it was.
